Congratulations! Year 5 Arcadia Funding is Awarded. Five proposals have won awards for the final year of funding from the 5 year grant given by Arcadia–a UK based grant-making fund established in 2001, whose key mission is to protect endangered culture and nature. The awards total just over $623,000. Beginning in September 2013 with a completion date of August 2014, the proposed projects cover a wide range of library units and involve cataloging, conservation, and geocoding. Read more... |

Yale Library Staff Learn about Harvard's 'Library Lab' Project Yale University Library recently hosted a talk by Sue Kriegsman, Program Manager for the Harvard Library's Office for Scholarly Communication. Using a grant from Arcadia, the Harvard University Library established a 'Library Lab' – an innovative project that supports lite and creative projects to improve services to faculty and students. Did you know... ...that the Yale Library acquired Summon, a search and discovery tool, from Serials Solutions in May 2013? Several departments, including Library IT, Acquisitions/Electronic Resources, the Medical Library, the Center for Science & Social Science Information, Sterling Memorial Library, and the Law Library, are configuring Summon for an initial debut in August 2013. Staff may preview Summon and use the feedback link to submit questions to the implementation group. Read more.... |
