Kissinger Digitization Project Employs the Use of Flow Chart Technology The Kissinger Papers Project is gearing up for digitization of its materials, beginning June 1, although preparations for this have been underway since June, 2013. These preparations have included using LucidChart software which creates flow charts of the workflows involved in digitizing the materials. These charts are being used as the basis of a management system which will track all parts of the digitization process, from shipping the materials to the vendor, to the successful completion of quality control, to the return of the materials to the Library. Workflow Control Tool Now In Testing Since 2012, staff in Manuscripts and Archives have been working with the Preservation department to examine the workflow implications of digitizing some 850,000 pages of materials for the Kissinger Project, which would result in 1.7 million digital images. They recently selected a workflow control tool to help with this process, which is currently underoing testing. Read more... |
